Our projects

Russia’s war against Ukraine has displaced millions of people, creating Europe’s largest humanitarian crisis since the Second World War. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, JRS has expanded its work to support people who have been forced to flee their homes.

Humanitarian aid

We provide internally displaced people (IDPs) with food assistance, hygiene kits, essential household items, and vouchers to help them purchase basic necessities.

Psychosocial support

We offer group art therapy sessions and individual psychological counseling. Our psychologist also provides consultations for people outside our shelter and conducts workshops in schools and community organizations.

Education

At Level Up, our educational center, we empower teenagers through NMT preparation, career exploration sessions with professionals from different fields, and our English Club.

Integration

We help adults and children deepen their understanding of local history and culture while also offering Ukrainian language courses.

Shelter

JRS offers temporary accommodation for refugees and IDPs. Shelter residents receive comprehensive support, including legal and psychological assistance, humanitarian aid, daily meals, and case management provided by a social worker.

Awareness Raising

JRS organizes panel discussions, roundtable discussions, charity auctions, and exhibitions to raise awareness and foster a better understanding of internally displaced people (IDPs) within local communities.

Legal and medical assistance

At the Jesuit Refugee Service, internally displaced persons can receive legal advice on issues of their status, social benefits, etc. Also, the Jesuit Refugee Service provides medical assistance to children and internally displaced persons in need.
